The hot weather that Dubai is famed for
seemed to return last week. Goodbye to an unprecedented cold winter and its low
temperatures. What could be the best way to celebrate this welcomed changing of
seasons? A refreshing dinner in one of Atlantis fabulous restaurants,
Kaleidoscope, with a great view of the famous Aquarium in the background. In
the end the perceived climate change seems to be a false alarm, as it has been
raining, hailing and even flooding within the last few days.The dinner held on 20 March 2009,
brought together 6 alumni and 8 candidates looking to begin their course at IE
shortly. This was an opportunity for the participants to get to know each
other, and exchange their thoughts about IE and the life in Madrid, where the
temperatures are beginning to rise after a snow-covered winter.

El calor empezaba a hacer estragos en
Dubai, despidiendo así algo parecido a un invierno con bajas temperaturas, por
extraño que parezca. La solución: una refrescante cena en Kaleidoscope, uno de
los restaurantes del recientemente inaugurado hotel Atlantis, con el famoso
acuario como fondo de escenario. El repentino calor resultó ser sólo una falsa
alarma, ya que ha estado lloviendo, hasta granizando, en Dubai desde entonces.
La cena, que se celebró el pasado 20 de
Marzo, reunió a 6 antiguos alumnos del IE y a 8 candidatos que desean empezar
sus estudios en IE en breve. Antiguos alumnos y candidatos tuvieron la ocasión
de conocerse e intercambiar impresiones acerca del IE y de la vida en Madrid,
donde las temperaturas también comienzan a subir, después de un invierno
cubierto de nieve.

the Amsterdam IE Alumni Club got the opportunity to meet Professor Martin
Boehm, Professor of Marketing at IE Business School.At this meeting,
Professor Boehm gave a session titled WHAT IS YOUR CUSTOMER WORTH? CUSTOMER LIFETIME VALUE AND FIRM VALUE. In this session, he talked about how customers, the important intangible assets of a firm, should be valued and managed.
He explained the concept of Customer Lifetime Value giving examples from
the real world and comparing value of customers for the firm over time.

On 18 March 2009,
IE alumni in Mumbai got together for an IE ALUMNI DINNER at the Taj Lands End
Hotel.
In this dinner, the alumni got a chance to meet and interact with old friends
and talk about their careers while enjoying a lovely Indian dinner. Everyone
got to share each others´ job hunting processes and share views on the
struggles with the crisis and the opportunities in the Indian economy.
We hope to have many more events in India in the future.
El 18 de marzo de 2009, antiguos alumnos del IE en Mumbai reunieron en el Taj
Lands End Hotel para IE ALUMNI DINNER.
En esta cena, los alumnos tuvieron la oportunidad de reunirse con sus
antiguos amigos y hablaron de sus carreras y la misma vez disfrutando de una
agradable cena india. Todos compartieron sus experiencias cuando estaban
buscando trabajo, y sus puntos de vista acerca de la crisis y las oportunidades
de la economía en India.
