London 12 may 09 a.jpgOn 12 May, took place the Networking Event "The Art of Networking, An Essential Skill in Turbulent Times", organized by IE Business School and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, at Chicago Booth School facilities in London.

 

Steven D'Souza, currently a Vice President at Merrill Lynch and an Executive Fellow at the IE Business School, lectured on "The Art of Networking, An Essential Skill in Turbulent Times".

 

Steven D'Souza has spoken at conferences and events throughout the world on subjects such as leadership, positive role models, diversity, networking and organisational effectiveness. Steven is also author of the bestselling book 'Made in Britain', and he has also written 'Brilliant Networking". He is an experienced coach and trainer and skilled at connecting people to assist them in achieving their goals

 

During the event, the Global Senior Management Program was also presented. The GSMP program is a joint program of IE Business School and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

 

The GSMP is aimed at members of the Managing Commitee and Administrative Councils, presidents, company owners, managing directors, vice presidents, unit directors, country managers and other senior managers, whose responsibilities are strategic affairs within their companies, and whose focus is clearly international.

 

The GSMP program starts on 7 June and ends on 11 July 2009. It combines two residential modules (1st in London and 2nd in Madrid) with an intersession period.

 

The Speed Networking dynamic between the assistants was a closing activity of the event The Art of Networking, An Essential Skill in Turbulent Times.

 

There was an excellent feedback from all participants.

El pasado 12 de mayo, tuvo lugar el Evento de Networking "The Art of Networking, An Essential Skill in Turbulent Times", organizado por  IE Business School y  la Universidad de Chicago Booth School of Business  en su campus de Londres.

 

El evento conto con la participación de Steven D'Souza, actual Vicepresidente en Merrill Lynch y Executive Fellow en IE Business School, quien impartió la conferencia magistral "The Art of Networking, An Essential Skill in Turbulent Times.

 

Steven ha participado en diversas conferencias alrededor del mundo y es autor de los bestseller "Made in Britain", y "Brilliant Networking". Cuenta con una amplia experiencia en coaching y formación.

 

Durante el evento se realizó también la presentación del Global Senior Management Program, programa que se realiza IE Business School en conjunto con la Universidad de Chicago Booth School of Business.

 

EL GSMP es un programa dirigido a Miembros del Comité de Dirección y Consejos de Administración: Presidentes, Propietarios de empresas, Consejeros Delegados, Vice-presidentes, Directores Generales, Directores de Unidad de Negocio, Country Managers y otros miembros de la alta dirección, con responsabilidad sobre los asuntos estratégicos de sus compañías y con un enfoque internacional.

 

El programa en su edición 2009, se iniciará el próximo 7 de junio. Cuenta con dos módulos presenciales, el primero en Londres y el segundo en Madrid, y con un Intersession Period, durante el cual se abordan temas de liderazgo y habilidades directivas.

 

Como cierre al evento, se organizo una dinámica de speed networking entre los asistentes.

 

El evento generó excelentes comentarios entre los asistentes.

Though I wasn't a participant of this event, I am sure this conference had not been as successful as it did should Steven D' Souza had not been the keynote speaker. I was inspired by his book entitled Made in Britain in which he made emphasis on having role models in our lives to promote hope and to succeed. I wish I had been a participant!
