Alumni Activities in Asia Pacific

Escrito el 20 septiembre 2013 por Alumni en Clubs & Activities, Geographic

Beijing, Seoul, Shanghai and Sydney were the most recent host-cities for alumni meetings in the region, each of which had its own unique format.  In Beijing, 13 alumni from 5 countries and 6 different programs, met for dinner at one of the capital’s local eateries to get an update from Regional Director Joël McConnell and to meet recently arrived IE grads.  Similar to the Beijing dinner, in Seoul 10 alumni from various backgrounds got together for some good food, an update on IE, and to send off new MBA students who’ll be joining programs this Fall.  In Shanghai however local alumni got to mix with current Global MBA+ students who were in town for their Global Immersion Week, and with current International MBA students who are on exchange at Fudan University.

In Sydney we took a different approach however, working closely with a local association that helps MBA alumni from the world’s top schools network in Australia and New Zealand.  As Professor Peter Bryant happened to be in town, we took him up on an offer to help us locally and we hosted a lunch and learn activity with him for not only 7 IE alumni, but also 10 alumni from other tops schools (Kellogg, NYU Stern, Harvard, IESE, HEC), and 4 MBA candidates who have been admitted to upcoming intakes of the Global MBA+, Global Executive MBA and the IE Brown Executive MBA.  The lunch and learn, organized by our local Office Director Isabelle Delacave (IMBA’05), was not only a great event for alumni, but it also served as a useful brand building exercise in an increasingly important market for IE.
