Club de México and the Emerging Markets Club have the honor of inviting you to a Private equity conference which will be given by Dr. Pedro Aspe Armella, Co-Chairman of Evercore Partners, a leading boutique investment bank in the USA. 


The event will be held on October 7 at 17:00 hrs in Aula Magna (Maria de Molina 11)


Dr. Aspe will share his vast experience in private equity and will focus on Latin American countries, a relevant topic for students who want to pursue a finance career or anyone who is interested in business opportunities within the region. Students will have the opportunity to talk with Dr. Aspe at the end of the conference. The conference will be given in English and Dr. Aspe will be introduced by David Bach, Associate Dean of MBA Programs and Professor of Strategy and Economic Environment


Pedro Aspe Armella biography:


Pedro Aspe, born in 1950, is co-Chairman of Evercore Partners, a leading boutique investment bank that is based in New York; he is also CEO of Protego, which is headquartered in Mexico City. Since 1996, Protego has advised on more than 200 transactions, including private equity placements, mergers & acquisitions, project financing and municipal bonds. In 2006, Protego merged with Evercore Partners. He holds a BA in Economics from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and a Ph.D in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).


Dr. Aspe has been a professor of Economics at ITAM and has held a number of positions with the Mexican government: Founder of INEGI (National Bureau of Statistics), Secretary of the Budget, and Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of Mexico from 1988-1994.


Dr. Aspe is a member of the Advisory Board of Stanford University’s Institute of International Studies, is on the Visiting Committee of the Department of Economics of the MIT, and is a member of the Board of CIDE. He is a director of the McGraw Hill Companies, the Carnegie Corporation (New York), and Televisa (Mexico); he sits on the advisory board of Marvin & Palmer (Wilmington) and Endeavor (Mexico). He is the Chairman of the advisory board of MG Capital (Monterrey).  Dr. Aspe has been the Chairman of Volaris in Mexico City since 2005.
